CARRIGALINE: Carrigaline Community Hall, Tuesday 13 June – 8.pm
Guest Speaker: Dr Gordon Reid. This meeting will focus on community response following Indaver’s new submission. Gordon reid will give a general background on dioxins and their health effects (cancer and developmental abnormalities), take a look at rising dioxin levels in Cork harbour revealed in Indaver’s own EIS, and explain how Indaver consultants massage data on dioxin intakes to make it look safe.
>>FRIDAY 16 June: Public Meeting & Launch of Cobh Zero Waste
COBH: Cobh Heritage Centre, Friday 16 June – 7.30pm.
Guest Speaker: Dr Paul Connett. At this meeting Dr Paul Connett will formally launch Cobh Zero Waste and showcase communities who have successfully implemented Zero Waste solutions and in doing so avoided the need to build incinerators. Dr Paul Connett is a globally acclaimed campaigner, author of ‘The Zero Waste Solution’, featured expert in Jeremy Irons documentary ‘Trashed’ and retired Professor of Chemistry at St Lawrence University, New York. He is a compelling speaker who explains the reasons why incinerators are a ‘rambo-like’ solution, both from a toxicology and sustainability perspective. There will be also be information given on the submission period for Indaver’s new material.
